Yan Zhou: TRREB Director Candidate 2026 — Leadership That Listens, Integrity That Inspires

I’m proud to share that I am an official candidate for the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) Board of Directors 2026. Voting runs from November 12 to November 17, and I’m asking for your support.

This election is more than a campaign — it’s a conversation about the future of our profession. As realtors, we stand at the intersection of policy, technology, and community service. Our members deserve leadership that listens, acts with integrity, and embraces innovation with purpose.

I’m running because I believe realtors need a voice that truly understands the challenges of our industry — one that’s grounded in real-world experience, guided by strong values, and focused on building a stronger TRREB for everyone.

Why I’m Running for TRREB Director 2026

The real estate industry is evolving faster than ever — new technologies, stricter regulations, and shifting client expectations are reshaping how we serve our communities. Realtors are expected to be trusted advisors, tech adopters, and advocates for housing policy all at once.

In this environment, TRREB needs directors who can bridge policy and practice — leaders who listen to members, anticipate change, and make thoughtful decisions that strengthen professionalism.

I’m running to bring leadership that listensintegrity that inspires, and innovation that empowers to the TRREB Board of Directors.

About Yan Zhou — Realtor, Manager, and Community Leader

As a brokerage manager, Fellow of the Real Estate Institute (FRI), and active TRREB volunteer, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting realtors, building stronger teams, and mentoring new professionals.

I’ve served on the TRREB Government Relations Committee – North Subcommittee (2022–2023), where I advocated for fair housing policies, zoning modernization, and small landlord support across York Region.

As a member of TRREB’s Young Professionals Network (YPN), I’ve worked with emerging realtors to strengthen mentorship, professional engagement, and community connection.

In 2022, I was honoured to receive the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Award, recognizing my commitment to leadership and volunteerism both within the industry and the broader community.

Beyond real estate, I’ve raised over $50,000 for Markham Stouffville Hospital, supporting local healthcare, and serve on my local Catholic School Council, helping build parent engagement and student enrichment.

To me, leadership is about service — listening first, collaborating often, and delivering results that matter.

My Vision for TRREB 2026 and Beyond

My campaign is guided by three pillars that reflect both our shared values and the direction our industry must take to thrive:

1. Integrity

Doing what’s right — always. Realtors deserve transparency, accountability, and leadership that puts members first. I will continue to champion professionalism, ethics, and fairness in every decision.

2. Innovation

The future is digital, and realtors deserve support navigating it. I’ll advocate for continued investment in technology, AI training, and educational tools that make our members more effective and efficient.

3. Inclusion

Every member’s voice matters. Whether you’re a new agent or a seasoned broker, your experiences and ideas help shape TRREB’s future. I’ll work to ensure diverse perspectives are represented in every discussion.

Together, these pillars form the foundation for a TRREB that is stronger, smarter, and more connected.

What I Hope to Achieve as TRREB Director

If elected as your TRREB Director 2026, I will focus on:

  • Advocacy: Strengthening TRREB’s influence with municipal and provincial leaders to support housing affordability, balanced policy, and fair representation.

  • Professional Growth: Expanding access to practical education, mentorship, and compliance training for every member.

  • Technology Leadership: Helping realtors adapt to AI, data tools, and digital platforms in a way that enhances — not replaces — the human touch.

  • Member Connection: Building bridges between leadership and members through open dialogue, transparency, and collaboration.

By listening first and leading with integrity, I’ll ensure TRREB continues to serve as a trusted advocate, educator, and community partner.

Why This Election Matters

Your vote is your voice. The TRREB Director Election 2026 is your opportunity to help shape the direction of our association for years to come.

Every ballot cast is a step toward a TRREB that truly represents its members — realtors who work hard, care deeply, and want to see our industry grow with integrity and innovation.

When you vote, you’re choosing not just a representative, but a vision for TRREB’s future — one where collaboration, technology, and advocacy work hand-in-hand.

A Message to Fellow Realtors

I understand the realities you face — juggling clients, compliance, technology, and personal growth. I’ve walked that same path. That’s why my approach to leadership begins with listening and learning from you.

Realtors deserve a TRREB that feels accessible, forward-thinking, and supportive — one that equips you with the knowledge, resources, and representation you need to succeed.

I’ll continue to advocate for policies that strengthen our profession, increase housing supply, and uphold the highest ethical standards. Together, we can make TRREB not just a board we belong to — but one we’re proud to represent.

Let’s Build a Stronger TRREB — Together

I’m deeply grateful for the encouragement and trust I’ve received from fellow TRREB members. As we approach election week, I’m inviting you to join me in shaping the future of our profession.
